International Talk Like a Pirate Day (ITLAPD) is a parodic holiday invented in 1995 by John Baur (”Ol’ Chum Bucket”) and Mark Summers (”Cap’n Slappy”), of the United States, who proclaimed September 19 each year as the day when everyone in the world should talk like a pirate. For example, an observer of this holiday would greet friends not with “Hello”, but with “Ahoy, me hearty!” The date was selected because it was the birthday of Summers’s ex-wife and consequently would be easy for him to remember.

For any of you out there that know me, I am a big believer in “You become what you think about”. The Law of Attraction (popularized recently with the movie “The Secret” ) is a great way to understand the concept. …about life on Earth it’s jaw-droppingly good. Mixing the footage with the beautiful song “Hoppipolla” from the great Icelandic band´s album Takk is an inspired and inspiring choice.
I haven’t watched the documentary (not watching TV very much right now), but I thin I will enjoy it. I think I” check and see if NetFlix has it!
